Brian J. Jones - Principal Consultant
Brian Jones relocated to New Orleans in 1998, after completing graduate school and began his career at Tulane University. Over five years, he brought several new concepts for the growing use of technology to the Division of Student Affairs, receiving the Presidential Award for Excellence in 2002 for his efforts and ideas. Presenting at ACUHO-IT, ACPA and NASPA, Brian led the field in cutting edge ideas that meshed traditional Student Affairs concepts with growing technical opportunities. During this experience, Brian gained intimate knowledge of Higher Education practices, trends, and technology.
In 2003, he left Tulane to lead the development and management of a new Information Technology services company. While in the private sector, Brian has been in charge of programming teams that develop sophisticated yet easy to use solutions. Some examples include resident placement systems that use a web-based interface to allow roommates to pre-select each other as well as the C.O.R.E. product which enables state agencies and case managers to refer clients and sites to each other.
After 6 years, continuous growth and countless successes, Brian ventured out to spearhead Studio1936 and Mirliton Media.
Brian specializes in department/ team building, web applications, project planning and management, user interface design, short and long term planning, social networking, organizational development, process analysis and planning, and web-based application development.
